Prana to Promote 1.2 Million Br Expo with Ministry of Health

Prana Promotion, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Drug Administration and Control Authority, is organising a health exposition at the Addis Abeba Exhibition Centre and Market Development Centre from April 23 to 25, 2010.

The company plans to register up to 102 companies in the wellness, health and medical field. Some 90 exhibitors are expected to be local while the rest are to come from abroad. The event will be organised at a cost of 1.2 million Br, according to Nebeyu Lemma, general manager of Prana.

The exhibition will take place in three different pavilions, but one pavilion, where medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and laboratory supplies will be exhibited, will only be accessed by medical professionals, as the law prohibits the promotion of such materials to the public.

All medical professionals in Ethiopia will be provided with identification cards to allow them access to restricted pavillions, Nebeyu said.

The public will also get free counselling services from medical professionals. The Ethiopian Red Cross Society will collect blood from donors.

Local and international exhibitors will be charged 100 Br and 100 dollars per square metre per day, respectively.
